Seared Tuna Salad

This salad looks fancy but is super easy to make.

Ingredients

1 fillet tuna (sashimi-grade)

1 cucumber sliced into thin ribbons

¼ cup edamame beans

¼ cup black sesame seeds

½ sliced avocado

¼ cup white sesame seeds

2 thinly sliced radishes

2 thinly sliced spring onions

2 cups lettuce

Sesame oil

Dressing

1tsp grated ginger

1tsp sesame oil

11/2tbsp tamari

2tsp mirin

Instructions

  1. Mix dressing ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Mix the black-and-white sesame seeds on a plate and use to coat tuna fillet on all sides.
  3. Heat one or two tablespoons of sesame oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the tuna for about 30 seconds on each side. It should be seared on the outside but still pink in the middle. Let tuna rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  4. Arrange lettuce in a bowl or plate, place cucumber ribbons, edamame beans, radish slices and sliced avocado attractively, topping with the sliced tuna. Garnish with spring onion and serve with dressing on the side.
